I need a plumber before water damage or mold occurs!
I wish I had been a plumber. Everyone likes plumbers. When you need a plumber, you need a plumber. You are happy to see them. You will pay them happily whatever they charge. The thing is how do you know when you need one? Let me give you an example. Every day when the occupants of a house showered, there was a drip, drip, drip in the living room. They were convinced that there was a leak. Leaks in houses can be very problematic. They can be elusive. They are damaging and can cause mold issues, or foundation problems. However, evidence of leaks is not always apparent. Sometimes, you can see remnants on the drywall. Those are obvious. In drop ceilings it is obvious. Even paint crinkling is obvious signs of past water damage. But in the case of my client’s house, there was none of that. Just a sure sign drip, drip, drip. So what was it? Turns out that under the tub there is something called a P-trap. This trap is efficient when the house is new. In old houses, years of sludge, hair, grease, shampoo and whatever other atrocities are discarded, form ledges inside of the pipes. These ledges then cause the dripping sound. It is amplified by tubs that are made entirely from fiberglass. So, there was no leak!
